Side 2 The “Mack the Knife” arrangement disappearing; prints and photography; photos taken at nightclubs; Avakian not getting proper producer credits; Vanguard 1950s recordings; Avakian tells stories of John Hammond; all talk about Ruby Braff including how Louis's music saved his life; Ostwald talks about leaving messages on Braff’s answering machine because he criticized tuba players; last days of Louis, looking sick but still playing amazingly. |
