Compiled by Jeann Failows and Paul Studer (first page reads "Some impressions of the great decca sessions, January 1957, dedicated to our very dear friend, 'Satchmo' Louis Armstrong, as recorded by roni and 'little panassie' (Jean Roni Failows + Paul Studer)." Contents include: Photographs of Louis Armstrong and the All Stars during Decca recording sessions for "Satchmo: A Musical Autobiography" and "Louis and the Angels" (see also Photographs box 12); photos of June Clark, Doc Pugh, Jeann Failows and Slim Thompson (the latter playing a harp from the "Louis and the Angels" session); photos of Lucille at the session; musicians include Squire Gersh, Edmond Hall, Sy Oliver, Everett Barksdale and others. Includes bulletins from the Hot Club de France and Louis's membership card as "President of Honneur" for the Hot Club de France. |
