Summary |
Numerous photocopies of excerpts from this book, which itself was an anthology of writings from "The Jazz Record," a magazine Hodes edited in the 1940s. All the excerpts have to do with Louis. They include the following stories: "New Orleans Trumpeters" by Cy Shain (p. 69-70); "Louis Armstrong" by Art Hodes (no p. number); "Mr. Armstrong and Mr. Robbins: An Interview Between Fred Robbins and Louis Armstrong Over Station WHN, January 26, 1944," transcribed by Lorraine Lion (p. 76-82)' "When Armstrong Came to New York," by Kaiser Marshall (p. 83-85); "St. Louis Jazzmen" by Ed Crowder and A. F. Niemoeller (p. 208-209). The rest of the folder contains photocopies of every other time Louis's name is mentioned, occasionally with Jack Bradley's handwriting to identify the writer.
