This box contains 36 snapshots of Louis Armstrong in performance between 1940 and 1970. Images include: Louis conducting his big band Luis Russell in the background); Louis onstage at Town Hall on May 17, 1947 with Bobby Hackett, Jack Teagarden, Peanuts Hucko and Bob Haggart; various shots of Louis and the All-Stars in performance (includes images of Trummy Young, Barney Bigard, Milt Hinton, Billy Kyle, Kenny John, Mort Herbert, Danny Barcelona, Joe Darensbourg, Jack Teagarden, Arvell Shaw, Cozy Cole and Velma Middleton); Louis with Columbia University's student big band; Louis in recording studio with Tommy Dorsey, Beny Goodman and Lionel Hamtpon (recording for the film "A Song Is Born"); Trummy Young playing the trombone with his foot; the All Stars onstage circa 1964 (Russell "Big Chief" Moore, Eddie Shu, Arvell Shaw, Billy Kyle, Danny Barcelona); the All Stars on a film set in 1959 (Trummy Young, Peanuts Hucko, Billy Kyle, Mort Herbert, Danny Barcelona); color snapshot (in booklet) of the All Stars onstage in Chicago from November 28, 1949 with Cozy Cole, Velma Middleton, Jack Teagarden and Barney Bigard visible; and more.
