This box contains 74 prints of Louis Armstrong in radio, television and recording studios between 1935 and 1961 Images include: Louis on a ”Saturday Night Swing Club” broadcast from June 25, 1938 with Leith Stevens directing the band; Louis and his Hot Seven recording for Decca on March 10, 1941 (George Washington, Prince Robinson, Luis Russell, Lawrence Lucie, Johnny Williams, Sid Catlett). Louis and Velma Middleton recording for Victor on April 27, 1946; Louis and his Hot Seven recording for the Swing label on September 6, 1946 (Vic Dickenson, Barney Bigard, Charlie Beal, Leonard Feather, Allan Reuss, Red Callender, Zutty Singleton); Louis playing muted trumpet in an RCA Victor recording studio 1946-1947; Louis on an April 1947 episode of Rudi Blesh’s ”This Is Jazz” with Albert Nicholas, George Brunies, Wild Bill Davison, Pops Foster, Art Hodes and Danny Barker; Louis with Jack Teagarden and Sammy Kaye; Multiple prints from ”Louis Armstrong Plays W.C.
